Finding a teacher through MusicSchool.com

  1. Why does MusicSchool.com choose my teacher for me?
    • MusicSchool.com's system works by finding the best match for you based upon your musical criteria. The MusicSchool.com team has been trained by experienced music instructors who know exactly what makes a quality music teacher. We save you time and effort by prescreening a database of teachers across the United States and in your local area. Usually, the teacher we assign to you will be a good match from the start.
  2. Why does it take so long to find a teacher?
    • We usually find a teacher within the first week. The assigned teacher would contact you right away. On the other hand, if you live in a more remote area or want to learn a not so common instrument, it may take us a little more time to find a professional in your area.
  3. What happens if MusicSchool.com can't find me an appropriate music teacher in my area?
    • Since you have made no commitments, you are not obligated to do anything. You are encouraged to check back at a later time though as we are always looking for more teachers in various areas.

Taking lessons through MusicSchool.com

  1. How can I pay for my music lessons?
    • Currently, we only accept major credit cards. This includes Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. Special arrangements can be made to pay via personal check. Please contact us for more details(contact information is at the bottom of this page).
  2. How do I get started once I pay for my first lesson set?
    • As soon as you finish the student registration form and complete the musicality profile you then wait to be contacted by the music teacher we have assigned to you. The teacher will most likely contact you by the telephone number you have provided. The teacher may also contact you by email.
  3. How do I schedule lessons?
    • The teacher will discuss your best lesson times that match his availability. After you agree on a mutual best time for a lesson between you and your teacher, it is scheduled.
  4. What if I need to cancel my lesson?
    • Scheduling of lessons is between student and teacher. If you need to cancel a lesson you must contact the teacher within 48 hours to not be charged for the lesson. Your teacher will discuss their particular cancelation policy and other information with you. Rescheduling lessons is between you and the teacher. The best policy is to stay in touch with them by telephone and email.
  5. What happens if my teacher doesn't show up for lessons when they are at my house?
    • If your teacher doesn't show up for a lesson that is scheduled he is responsible for making the lesson up with you. The teacher and the responsible party should discuss this before, during, or after the very first lesson.
    • Call or email your teacher. If for some reason the teacher can not be reached contact MusicSchool.com by email at support@musicschool.com
  6. I am going to be away for a while. What do I need to do in order to resume my lessons later?
    • Please let your teacher know you will be away for an extended period. Your unreleased lessons(lessons not charged) will be placed on hold until you return and schedule with your teacher. Again you must let your teacher know you will be away at least 48 hours before your next regularly scheduled lesson. You must complete your held lessons before their expiration(1 year after their purchase date).
  7. How do I get a refund for music lessons I have not taken?
    • All music lesson fees are held until they are released by the student and charged by the teacher. If for some reason you drop out, and the balance of the lessons are not taken, the lessons will be held for up to one year. You may request a refund at anytime up to one full year of the last tuition payment. Only the unused portion of lessons will be refunded. These are lessons not charged by the teacher.
    • IF YOU ARE GOING TO QUIT YOUR MUSIC LESSONS, YOU MUST TELL YOUR TEACHER TO TAKE YOU OUT OF HIS/HER SCHEDULE. THIS IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

THE STUDENT CENTRAL CONTROL PANEL

  1. What is the Student Central Control Panel?
    • The Student Central Control Panel is your own personal section where you can manage your lessons, review your recent lessons, update your student information, and find information about your teacher.
  2. Where is the Student Central Control Panel?
    • The Student Central Control Panel is ironically located in the Student Central section. You may login to the Student Central Control Panel by typing the username and password you signed up with.
  3. How to use the Student Central Control Panel?
    • After each music lesson you take you, the student, need to login to your Student Central Control Panel to release the lesson charged by your teacher. This is the lesson you just had, the most recent. Your teacher should have already charged the lesson against your set of 4 or will do so soon thereafter. Your teacher gets paid after all 4 lessons are charged and released by you.
  4. How do I continue my lessons after I have used all four of my original set?
    • To continue your lessons you must purchase an additional set of 4 lessons. After you release the 4th lesson charged in the managed lessons section of your control panel you will be reminded to purchase your next set of lessons. You will also be reminded by email to purchase your next set.
  5. How do I redeem a gift certificate for lessons?
    • To redeem a gift certificate for music lessons simply click "Redeem Gift Certificate" when you are prompted to purchase a set of lessons. A new mini window will open where you can type your Gift Certificate Code. The lessons will be purchased in the format they were paid for. So if they are for 1 hour at the teacher studio, then that is what the set of lessons will be setup for.
